Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the sinners. 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
