Nay, by the Moon 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
