No! By the moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
