NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the sinners. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
