And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 This is in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And rely upon Allah the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
