No! By the moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
