Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
