By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 Warn the men. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
