Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except those of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
