NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
