Do you not see how those who dispute God's signs, are turned away from the right path -- 69 Those who deny the Scripture and that wherewith We send Our messengers. But they will come to know, 70 when they shall have to carry the shackles and chains [of their own making] around their necks, 71 into boiling water and then they will be burned in the fire. 72 Then it will be said unto them: where are those whom ye have been associating? 73 associated with Allah in His Divinity?” They will say: “We have lost them; rather, we never used to call upon anyone before.” Thus will Allah cause them to stumble in error. 74 That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. 75 “Enter the gates of hell, to remain in it forever”; so what a wretched destination for the haughty! 76 (Muhammad), exercise patience. The promise of God is true. Whether We let you witness the suffering with which they were threatened or because of your death (you do not see them suffering,), We shall still punish them when they return to Us (on the Day of Judgment). 77 And indeed, [O Muhammad,] We sent forth apostles before thy time; some of them We have mentioned to thee, and some of them We have not mentioned to thee. And it was not given to any apostle to bring forth a miracle other than by God's leave. Yet when God's will becomes manifest, judgment will [already] have been passed in all justice, and lost will be, then and there, all who tried to reduce to nothing [whatever they could not understand]. 78
