Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
