Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
