Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
