Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
