Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
