Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
