Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
