He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and in awe of God 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 These verses are a reminder 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
