Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
