Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
