Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
