Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
