Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
