Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
