Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
