Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Indeed, were you to know the truth with certainty, 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
