Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
