Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
