Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
