Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 and the severally severing 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
