Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 and yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
