Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
