Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
