Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
