Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
