50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
