Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed time? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
