In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 As justification or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
