The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
