Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
