Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
