Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
