In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 For the living and the dead, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
