In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
