Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 separating one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known extent. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
