The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
