The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
