The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
