The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And dense gardens. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
