The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
